Circles
Moving round in circles here again
only doing what I did yesterday
Childishness ..it won't let me be
Me ..I still believe in miracles
But am I running trying to get away?
or am I looking for some secret place?
and if I find it.. will I then be free?
Is there something there to set me free?
searching searching
searching soul still thinking of myself
History just repeats itself
same old things keep happening time again
dance a dance that lasts a thousand years
lose yourself and love the one you're with
fight with you if I had to do
my intention simple you may think
I would rather get along with you
cos we're moving round in circle here again
we're doing all the same things as yesterday
come on people get along with you
come on people get along with you
searching searching

Along the Verge

A LONG THE VERGE
simple easy how d'you go ?
childhood days black and white
walking home in dripping clothes
from the river in the woods
how d'you go simplicity, simplistic
no thought, not too much thinking
only doing what came naturally
first thing that came to mind
mind not bent but straight
straight out
out knowing, no inward looking
only searching for something new
with energy I was running free
never knowing what freedom meant
didn't need to go that place
what was there to know?
heaven is good
hell is bad
I stumble through the grass
tuned into the bright
wide open hearted
holey shoes with broken laces
that walked a hundred miles
a thousand steps that climbed the trees
on the verge along the road
road was straight could see no end
always landed on my feet
there was an old man
playing music time to time
first thing that came to mind
mind not bent but straight
straight out
corner house behind the green
lived a man to look up to
rolling piano music man
childish mind had no anger
played to us, old ragtime blues
not too much thinking
only playing what came naturally

Sunday Streets

SUNDAY STREETS
a wake up call, a simple rhyme
gently beat on steeper stairs
than bigger feet will ever know
a rushing leap into my arms
a sunshine name smiles at the door
outside, another day to play
on quiet lazy sunday streets
with time to spare she skips on through
kicking autumn paper leaves
and down the path where mama waits
where little hands put up a fight
and to her dad , she clutches tight
back soon kisses on her cheek
and at the gate by the big tree
we hold hands and say goodbye
I make a promise i will keep
brand new rose friend of mine

LINCOLN SQUARE
Here I go, I'm losing myself in you
you're a good place to be lost
not noticing people go by
in a crowded midday rush
now you've set yourself free
make it easy on me
make it easy on me
I'm exactly where I want to be
In the middle with you
drinking coffee in Lincoln square
did you know I was waiting all this time?
whisper to my ear
soft and clear
move in close
I tell you I'm always there
with your head lay on my shoulder
In the middle where we two sit
holding hands along the wall
pinching ourselves, we're here
drinking coffee in Lincoln square
did you know I was waiting all this time?
let me know just how you feel
I'm not pushing and I won't
It's a wonder that we got here
breathing easy, easy talking
these are the things we've missed
you're my best friend
you're my life
I'm happy to be your man
and all my love is yours
yes I'm exactly where I want to be
in the middle with you
drinking coffee in Lincoln square
did you know I was waiting all this time?

Lazy Man

LAZY MAN
get up and do it right
you should know that you can't lie around
come on, put up a fight
you've just got to come alive
I know I know lazy man
you're worried
you might be wrong
your right could be someone's wrong
but you've been afield far too long
and now you're dreaming all day long
how long how long?
lazy man
I know I know lazy man
you've got a problem
you've got a disease
and she kissed you
she's got the cure
she's gonna drop you to the floor
because her brother did your work
and now you're rapping at the door
I know I know
Lazy man
how long ? how long ?
lazy man

Everywhere
02:49
|

EVERYWHERE
she has a crooked sense of rhythm
while she's dancing on my toes
she's not keeping any secrets
her stories overflow
doesn't chose her words too careful
she's got magic in her mind
and I fall down
I just keep falling down
A welcome to her circus
watching high, she'll never fall
naked feet in muddy water
splash the ground from under me
If flat footed I was thinking
now I'm standing on my toes
she's everywhere
she's moved into my sleep
lalalalalalalalalalalalalalal
no matter rain or shine
she always casts a spell
on me, I have no defenses
can't keep a track of time
lives so free
wear it like a crown

More Wine

MORE WINE
you say I've been a good friend to you
oh yeah
how much can I give you?
how much can you take?
you're one in a million
you think I don't notice when you lie to me
you're taking the piss now
you make a big mistake
no thought for a soul
long gone days time together
it's good for you when every thing runs well
party time will catch me out
more wine for the fool
but when the leaves start falling
then we'll find out who is who
everyone for themselves
no more talking
nothing left to say to you
I'm not gonna carry your bag on my shoulder
you can let yourself down
you measure love with what you get
when you don't get you turn to hate
then you can be found
crying in your hole
long gone days time together
it's good for you when every thing runs well
party time will catch me out
more wine for the fool
but when the leaves start falling
then we'll find out who is who

ATLAS
atlas, a line
a dream across a page
tell me how
and why you came
be good to know
fascinates me so
atlas a line
a dream across a page
I drew you
long before I met you
let my hand
to follow the lines I saw
my friends have said
daydreamers waste time
but they'll never see
what I see today
pick up my brush
and paint them all away
yesterday dream
tomorrow new world
I will never be lost
